Managed Print Service for Health Sector – Case Study

A Cohesive Managed Print Service for Health Sector - Case Study

Challenge

Over time and due to a lack of cohesive document management strategy, the Managed Print Service for Health Sector had developed in to three separate Print Rooms, across three locations.  With each Print Room managed independently to the others, the entire operation lacked synergy, therefore was both wasteful and expensive.

Further issues that the client faced included the urgent need for substantial capital investment in equipment, plus a need to invest in process and technology.

Lastly, the client faced an issue with unmanaged external print spend, with an array of unauthorised and unvetted print vendors.

Solution

Working in partnership with a leading Total Facilities Management company, the proposal which Hobs recommended involved the radical restructure of the current operation, to provide a central on-site satellite Print Room and a Print Management team.

The satellite Print Room would be tasked with short-run, quick turn-around work, undertaken through a core team and distributed across each campus, by the client’s transport team.

The Print Management team are tasked with the management of all work that cannot be undertaken by the satellite Print Room.  Using a selected base of suitable and vetted external suppliers, this team take all client requests, and firstly make recommendations as to the best production approach and then secure three quotations before managing the work through to completion.
